WebBlister beetles are in the family Meloidae, and more than 300 species are found in the U.S. A common species in Utah is the spotted blister beetle, Epicauta maculata. Often blister beetle adults will have obvious “shoulders” that are wider than the head. Adults are relatively soft bodied and long legged compared to other beetles (Figs. 8, 9). Webbeetles live for about 80 weeks if conditions are good, which is quite a long life in beetle terms.
